| About SGS Alumni Association - SGSAA Serangoon Garden Secondary School was established in 1959 and was then named Lichfield Secondary School. The school has a history of 45 years. In 1960, the school was renamed Serangoon Garden Government High School where both English and Chinese streams studied under one administration. In 1969, the school absorbed the neighbouring school, Hwi Yoh Vocational School, to become Serangoon Garden Secondary School (SGSS). It became a bilateral secondary school with facilities for the teaching of academic, technical and commercial subjects. In 1984, it became a purely English stream school with the last batch of Chinese stream graduating in the same year. The School moved into its modern well equipped premises in mid March 2004. Presently SGS has a population of 1350 pupils in the Express, Normal Academic and Normal Technical Streams. SGS Alumni was established on 7th Oct 2004, by a group of former students from SGGH, SGT and SGS. |

Our Mission
Our first mission then is to get all alumni to renew and maintain ties with the alma mater. Pride and respect for the institution lead
to self-respect and vice versa.
Our second mission is to pool the resources and knowledge of alumni in areas such as professional
sharing, business networking, academic advances, etc.
Our Vision
Our vision is to nurture a strong alumni body, which is proud to be associated with the School and which actively engages in
networking for the benefit of everybody - the school, the alumni and the student body.
Our Job
Our job is to meet the varied needs and interests of all alumni so that their ties with SGS can be renewed quickly and maintained
efficiently and progressively.
